About Me:

I made this website so that I can connect with other music lovers and provide them with an experience like never before. I want to introduce the crowd to new music instead of the same old music played over and over again (as so many DJ's do). Give everyone some variety, create custom remixes and mashups of songs that have never been done before. Listen to the crowd and be the best DJ I can be. Then maybe someday get to fulfill my dream of DJing in a club on a regular basis..

I like all kinds of music. You can say my passion is music. Over the years I have heard many songs by many different bands. While listening to the radio I would often think of songs that would sound good together. Or I would think what if this song had the bassline or chorus from another one?

In my late teens I started going to night clubs. The pounding music, the lights, the atmosphere all controlled by the DJ. Hearing special remixes in the clubs where the DJ's put their own spin on things made a lasting impression on me. I realized a DJ can create a complete experience for anyone and everyone with just the power of music, right there I was hooked. I wanted in to the DJ world.

I started following different DJ's and even hung in the DJ booth watching what they were doing and keeping my ears tuned to what they where doing. I got a job as club security hoping it would lead to DJing someday. Eventually I gave up on my dream of being a DJ at that time as I realized almost no one goes from being security to a DJ.

Over the years I started building a vast collection of music. Everything from the obscure to the mainstream. I literally have spent hours and days searching for new music on the internet, through search engines, friends recommendations and many other ways. There are many good bands out there but if you don't know where to look you won't find a lot of them. The radio only plays mainstream stuff put out by major record labels.

Many years later my dream was reignited. I went out and bought an M-Audio X-Session Pro Controller from Best Buy. Within 24 hours I started learning how to mix songs. What it meant when they stopped cold, their BPM, fade out or fade in. I started learning how to make mental notes of the songs too.

After several weeks I had mentioned to a DJ friend of mine that I wish I knew how to DJ like him (I idolized him and had the upmost respect for him). He then said he would teach me.

Several weeks later I then had the chance one night to play a set live for the opening hour (that mix is posted in the music section) in my favorite club thanks to my DJ friend. He showed me the basic controls and then set me off and running. I was using CD's I made for the club and a sheet of paper with the BPM's written down for each song.

It was my first time and I was nervous but I knew I nailed it when a regular patron at the club looked at the DJ Booth and was expecting to see the resident DJ and saw me instead. He later told me he thought it was the resident DJ and didn't realize it was me DJing until he saw me up there! This unfortunately led to my DJ friend not wanting to teach me anymore or be my friend and so our friendship was brought to an end. As a result that was the first and last time I was able to DJ at my favorite club.

I guess my music picks weren't too shabby because after that night several bands I played that night in my set went into full rotation in his sets, Necessary Response, Aesthetic Perfection, Lady Gaga Love Game (Aesthetic Perfection Remix), Imperative Reaction and the list goes on.

Time has passed since then and once again my burning desire to DJ has come back. So I decided I needed a DJ name if I was ever going to go anywhere with DJing as a name and reputation are everything in the DJ biz! So I decided on the name DJ Syn. The word Sin (mis-spelled intentionally to stylize the "Y", Syn as in Synergy, Synaptic, Synthesis, Synchronize all of these words having to do with music and it's interweaving of feelings, motions, vibe and flow. And after System Syn - one of my favorite bands.

I was practicing daily on my M-Audio X-Session Pro. Now I am using a Native Instruments Traktor S4 and retired the M-Audio.

Well it's been awhile since I updated this... Like I said before I was going to get some music production equipment. I now have a bunch of new equipment, I developed a Native Instruments addiction.. they make the best stuff!

Only time will tell and hopefully my dream will come true. There is nothing on this earth that can compare to the vibe, the feeling you get when everyone is on the dance floor listening and dancing to what you're spinning. It's an amazing feeling! It's as if everyone becomes one and you're all transported to someplace else that night. Someplace where your worries the worlds worries don't matter, only enjoying the music, dancing and having a good time matter. And so the world is a happier place even if it's only for a few hours on a weekend. Its primal, do I dare say it's almost a Syn to feel this way.. ;)

Keep checking back as I will be updating this regularly.
